That was quick.

Thanks to Matt's very sweet computer genius coworker, our computer is already fixed! Woo-hoo! I don't know how people manage without one. :)

We had a bad virus, but he was able to fix it. I'm so scared to click on anything now! All I did was click on a link on Google, and my entire computer was taken over. My screen saver changed, the internet stopped working, all of my programs were practically disabled. I panicked, but in the end, there was nothing to panic about. Except my beloved 3D Home Architect Deluxe 3.0. It and all of my saved files that went with it were totally wiped out. Very sad, indeed. ;)

Anyway, Tracy asked if all of the issues mentioned in the last post happened in our new house. YES, they did. A few minutes after I looked around and saw all of that water, I thought, "My gosh. Our new house is ruined." Then, the hot water heater broke--and I really thought the house was falling apart. Then, our computer came down with the virus, and I just looked up to the Lord and told Him, "I'm feelin' like Job here." ;) Really, I did say that. Plus, all of these problems came on top of two very unexpected big bills. We're definitely going to have to rely on the Lord over these next few months. Maybe that's why this is all going on, huh? Whatever the reason, we know it's for our good.

Through all of the little struggles this week, though, we've been blessed. The water damage isn't extensive at all--mainly because our house is on a raised slab instead of a crawlspace. The repairman said that we would have a totally different monster on our hands if it were on a crawlspace. But, y'all, the water was EVERYWHERE. To put it in perspective--my empty13-gallon trashcan in the laundry room was overflowing with water. The water was about an inch deep in the kitchen and laundry room. Our washing machine was filled with water. Our bedroom floor, on the other side of the laundry room wall, was soaked. It was a surreal experience to wake up in the middle of the night to that kind of destruction! The ceiling was soaked, the walls were soaked--it was a mess. But with some very inexpensive help and a lot of hard work, we were able to get things back to normal. The only evidence that remains is a little faded-looking spot on the paint in the laundry room. :) God is good, isn't He? I think He just needs to shake us up a bit sometimes.

The hot water heater, we found out today, isn't completely messed up; all we have to do is replace two little things on it. It's much better than having to buy a new one.

In better news, the baby is doing great. He's been much more active than usual, maybe because he's excited that his grandparents just bought him a crib and bedding! ;) Okay, maybe I'm the one who is excited. My nesting instinct has kicked into overdrive, but I have nothing to work with yet! After a baby shower on May 4th (and once the crib and bedding come in), I'll get to work on the nursery.

Alright--that's all for now. I'm heading off for a weekend of REST. I hope y'all have a great weekend! :)

FYI: I haven't forgotten about the new house pictures. I'll get them out as soon as I can. If y'all are as anxious to see my house pictures as I am to see yours sometimes, then I know you're ready!
